BWLA Assistant Coach: Fast Track Paralympian Programme

Fast Track programme is a UK funded BPA supported pilot programme designed to identify and develop talented disabled lifters. The British Weightlifter’s Association (BWLA) is recruiting for two assistant coaching positions to develop talented disabled lifters.  Professional development and mentoring will be offered to the successful applicants.

The successful applicants would be expected to assist the development of identified talent on the ‘Fast Track’ scheme, which aims to coach lifters through to relevant performance standards. This will initially focus around national squad training sessions held at weekends.

The successful post holder will be required to commit to a minimum of 12 days (all weekends) per annum, with an anticipated maximum of 20 days.  Additional days will be required for professional development.  Applicants should have a minimum of a BAWLA Instructor or equivalent qualification.  BAWLA are looking for team-oriented coaches with a performance ethos, commitment to fair play, willingness to develop individually and commitment to further disabled lifting in Great Britain.

The length of contract will be until April 2007 subject to review and availability of funding. Remuneration will be between £50 and £60 per day (excluding training days).
